Representatives to United University Professions Spring 2008 Delegate Assembly have re-elected three officers and elected five new Executive Board members. All officers will serve two-year terms, effective June 1, 2008.

Frederick Floss, a professor of economics and finance at Buffalo State College, was re-elected to a third term as UUP’s Vice President for Academics. John Marino, an associate director of radiology at SUNY Stony Brook’s Health Science Center, was re-elected to a fifth term as UUP’s Vice President for Professionals. Rowena Blackman-Stroud, teaching hospital associate director of nuclear medicine at SUNY Brooklyn’s Health Science Center, was re-elected to a eighth term as UUP’s Treasurer. As statewide officers, Floss, Marino and Blackman-Stroud also serve on UUP’s 19-member Executive Board. The other eleven members are serving terms that expire in 2009.

The following were newly elected to UUP’s Executive Board:

  • Jamie Dangler, an associate professor of sociology at SUNY Cortland;
  • J. Philippe Abraham, a senior academic advisor at the University at Albany;

Nearly 300 UUP delegates voted in the elections conducted during the Delegate Assembly held in Albany May 2-3.
