UUP president to testify on SUNY pay raises

WHO: Phillip H. Smith, President, United University Professions WHAT: Testifies on the pay raises given to three top SUNY administrators at a hearing called by the Senate Higher Education Committee.
WHERE: Van Buren Hearing Room A, Legislative Office Building, Albany
WHEN: Friday, Sept. 24 at 1 p.m.

United University Professions President Phillip H. Smith will deliver testimony on the controversial double-digit pay raises awarded to three top State University of New York administrators. Smith was invited to testify at the hearing called by the Senate Higher Education Committee to investigate the pay hikes. The hearing is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 24 at Van Buren Hearing Room A in the Legislative Office Building in Albany.

UUP is the nation's largest higher education union, with more than 42,000 academic and professional faculty and retirees. UUP members work at 29 New York state-operated campuses, including SUNY’s public teaching hospitals and health science centers in Brooklyn, Long Island and Syracuse.
