UUP, PSC, students march for SUNY, CUNY funding

On Wednesday, March 14, students, SUNY faculty represented by United University Professions (UUP), and CUNY faculty represented by Professional Staff Congress (PSC) march and advocate for additional state funding for public higher education; conduct news conference.

Hundreds of students and faculty from SUNY and CUNY will march to the Capitol where they'll meet with state lawmakers to advocate for additional funds for public higher education in the 2012-13 state budget.

The march will begin at the Westminster Presbyterian Church at 262 State St. and proceed down State Street past the Capitol to the entrance to the Justice Building, where students and faculty will walk inside to the Legislative Office Building.

At noon, student and faculty leaders will hold a news conference in the LOB press room.

Andrew Pallotta, NYSUT Executive Vice President

Steven London, PSC First Vice President

Kathleen Jordan, NYPIRG Chairperson

Antonio Alfonso, CUNY USS (University Student Senate)
