UUP "Heavy Cost ad: March 2017


This 30-second ad aired on cable and broadcast network stations in the Capital Region and Syracuse. In Brooklyn and on Long Island, the spot aired on News 12 Brooklyn, New York 1, and cable networks such as CNN, TNT, Food Network, HGTV, MSNBC, and USA.

The ad called for state lawmakers to properly fund SUNY's public hospitals in Brooklyn, Stony Brook and Syracuse, which ran the real risk of being overrun by millions of newly uninsured patients if President Donald Trump and Republicans followed through with Trump’s well-publicized pledge to repeal the Affordable Care Act. SUNY's state-operated hospitals treat anyone, whether or not they can pay for health care.

The ad was part of an ad campaign for the hospitals, which included a social media component and a radio commentary by UUP President Fred Kowal.

Endow ad

This was one of more than a dozen different static and video social media ads that ran on Facebook and Twitter in March 2017 as part of UUP's campaign for state lawmakers to properly fund SUNY's state-run public hospitals in Brooklyn, Stony Brook and Syracuse.

The ads were directed at UUP members and employees at SUNY's hospitals, state elected officials, and SUNY and UUP supporters.

The campaign was a success, registering more than 1 million impressions with video and getting nearly 420,000 views. The static ads registered 1.6 million impressions and got nearly 18,000 link clicks.



UUP "Ph.D" adjuncts ad: January 2016


This 30-second ad aired on cable television systems in the Capital Region, Buffalo, Long Island, and Ulster and Dutchess counties in January 2016. The ad calls attention to the poverty-level salaries of SUNY adjunct faculty. The campaign’s goal was to raise public awareness of the precarious situation adjuncts face and to generate support for pay increases and improved working conditions.



In America: UUP documentary: November 2015

In America

This 5-minute documentary is airing on nearly 200 public television stations across the country in 2016.
A one-minute commercial ad aired nationally on Fox Business News on Nov. 19 and 20, reaching more than 86 million homes nationwide. The spot also aired on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, CNBC, Family Channel, TLC, Discovery Channel and other popular cable outlets in November.

The ad aired in February and March 2015 in Albany, Buffalo, New York City, Syracuse, and cable systems in New York City and Long Island.

This ad appeared in The Daily News on March 13 and March 16. It also ran in the Brooklyn Daily Eagle and a group of Brooklyn weekly newspapers during the weeks of March 10 and March 17.

The ad aired throughout January 2014 on selected cable TV systems in New York City and Long Island, and on cable systems in Albany during the last three weeks of January.



UUP Identity Ad, Fall 2013: "We open doors"


The ad aired from 6 a.m. to midnight on Nov. 4th through the 15th (Monday-Friday) in the following markets: Albany, Brooklyn, Buffalo, Queens, Long Island, Rochester, Syracuse, and Watertown.
