Union negotiators visit North Country chapters

UUP's Negotiations Team is on the move.

Members of the Team swung through the North Country
Sept. 23-24, visiting Potsdam, Canton and Plattsburgh to gather members' input on what UUP's priorities should be at the bargaining table. Above, Associate Chief Negotiator Mike Smiles and Chief Negotiator Jamie Dangler, standing, discuss the negotiations process with Potsdam UUPers, from left, Julie Rapczynski and Meilee Lin.

Potsdam Chapter President Laura Rhoads, and the chapter's Ad Hoc Advisory Committee members Karen Johnson-Weiner and John Cote were also on hand. Johnson-Weiner and Cote are charged with collecting further input from the membership. That input—as well as comments received through member suggestion forms, a membership survey, a hearing at the 2010 Fall Delegate Assembly, and chapter visits through November—will help the union prepare its final package of proposals to present to the state at the bargaining table.

Members are encouraged to fill out a suggestion form online.
