Visiting the offices of more than two dozen lawmakers, the UUPers urged legislators to approve the extension of the millionaire’s tax in the form of a bill recently introduced by Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver.

The UUP advocates also asked lawmakers to restore the funds cut for SUNY and its hospitals in the supplemental state budget and to reject any NYSUNY 2020 legislation that includes differential tuition and public/private partnerships. Additionally, the UUPers asked for the passage of legislation that would require more accountability and transparency for SUNY’s research and campus foundations.
