WNY professionals get tools to succeed
Professionals spent the day in seminars on Workload Creep, Bullying in the Workplace, and Saying 'No' as a Professional. The workshops were led by NYSUT labor relations specialists assigned to UUP.
“We’re all too familiar with management saying we have to do more with less,” Abraham said. “Professionals need to know that there are provisions in the contract and other tools to deal with increases in workload.”
Professionals also got the low down on what constitutes bullying in the workplace—whether it be the boss or among peers—and how to deal with this stressful situation.
Similar one-day conferences were held June 9 on Long Island and June 20 in the North Country.
Photos from the WNY conference are available on the union’s website here.
