Committee hard at work counting chapter ballots
Elections and Credentials Committee Chair Dave Kreh of Cortland, standing, answers a question from committee member Angela Melton of Downstate Medical Center before she electronically scans votes cast in UUP chapter elections.
Kreh and Melton joined 17 other committee members at the UUP Administrative Office the week of March 18 to count thousands of ballots cast in the 2013-2015 chapter elections. Final election reports are expected to be finished Saturday, March 23; chapter presidents will receive the reports by U.S. mail, and results will be emailed to chapter presidents and posted on the UUP website under Elections Monday, March 25.
“Members of the Elections and Credentials Committee are extraordinarily diligent and amazingly good natured about the important work they do throughout the year,” said UUP Secretary Eileen Landy, the officer liaison to the committee. “This committee is particularly hard working in years like this one when we have chapter and retiree elections and literally thousands of ballots must be sorted, opened and counted.”
Committee members were at UUP headquarters earlier this month to work on elections for chair and regional positions on the union’s statewide Committee on Active Retired Membership. Those results are posted under Elections.
