Come to the People’s Climate March!

Join UUP today at the People's Climate March in Manhattan.

UUP and other unions will meet at a staging area at 56th Street and Broadway. AFT will staff the staging area from 8-10 a.m. A labor rally is scheduled for 10 a.m.; UUP President Fred Kowal will speak at the rally. AFT will also have a limited number of free T-shirts and rally signs for marchers.

The march begins at 11:30 a.m.

Bus transportation is available to the parade from locations statewide. Signing up for a seat on a bus in your area is easy.

More than 100,000 people, including activists from organized labor, environmental and social justice groups, students, scientists, renewable energy advocates, movie stars and even beekeepers. It will begin on Central Park West, from 65th to 86th streets, and end at 11th Avenue between 34th and 38th streets.

The event is being staged to protest climate change worldwide. Parade organizers are predicting that the People’s Climate March will be the world’s largest climate change demonstration and will dovetail with a September United Nations summit on climate.
