March with UUP in NYC on Sept. 12!
It’s not too late to sign up to march with UUP in New York City’s annual Labor Day parade on Saturday, Sept. 12.
We need you, your family and your friends to join us as we show our union pride marching down Fifth Avenue in one of the nation’s largest Labor Day parades.
And it's all free.
Together, we will send an clear message to the so-called reformers who strive to weaken and break unions that UUP is united, strong and ready to fight for our members, for SUNY and for labor.
To do that, we need you to march.
It’s easy. Just meet us at the parade.
Or you can take the bus; UUP is providing free round-trip transportation from Albany, New Paltz, Farmingdale and Stony Brook.
We will have tables with T-shirts, bandanas, water bottles and snacks. We’ll also have UUP signs, as well as pencils and books for you to hand out as you march.
Just show up
If you’re meeting us at the parade, you can show up as early as 8:30 a.m.; marchers should be at UUP’s pre-parade staging area by 10:30 a.m. The staging area is located on West 45th Street between 6th and 7th avenues; look for the UUP tents and members wearing red UUP shirts.
UUP is scheduled to march by 11:30 a.m.
Get on the bus
If you’re taking the bus, UUP has a bus set to depart from UUP headquarters in Latham. That bus will stop at the Route 32 bus stop near the SUNY New Paltz campus.
A second bus will make stops at Stony Brook HSC, Stony Brook University and SUNY Farmingdale.
Breakfast, lunch, snacks, water and T-shirts will be provided on all buses.
Details about the parade, bus pick-up locations and other logistics are below.
