uupdate 12-18-18

On Thursday, Dec. 20, UUP President Fred Kowal will discuss UUP’s legislative initiatives for 2019-20 on two radio news programs that together provide coverage across the majority of New York state.

At 11 a.m., Kowal will appear on "The Capitol Pressroom, the daily one-hour public affairs program based at the state Capitol that airs on Syracuse public radio station WCNY(91.3-FM).

At 3 p.m., he will be featured in a 30-minute one-on-one interview on “The Capitol Connection” on Albany public radio station WAMC (90.3-FM). He will be interviewed by WAMC President/CEO Alan Chartock, professor emeritus at the University at Albany.

During both interviews, Kowal will discuss UUP’s legislative agenda, which includes items such as the approval of an enhanced maintenance of effort for SUNY, and more funding for the University to help cash-strapped campuses, many of which are still reeling from slashing state aid cuts to SUNY during the Great Recession.
