March in a Labor Day parade!

Marching in a Labor Day parade is a fun way to show your union pride—and there’s almost always a picnic afterward.

Labor Day parades and celebrations are set to be held across the state on Monday, Sept. 2, including in Albany, Buffalo and Syracuse.

The New York City Labor Day parade will be held the following weekend, on Saturday, Sept. 7. UUP will march in that parade. Click HERE to register to march with UUP.

Albany

The Michael L. Burns Labor Day Celebration will be held from noon to 4 p.m. at the American Legion Mohawk Post 1450, at 275 Grooms Road in Clifton Park. There will be food and drinks, a rock wall, a video truck and a bounce house for kids. The event is sponsored by the Capital District Area Labor Federation.

Buffalo

The 2024 Buffalo AFL-CIO Labor Day celebration begins with a 9 a.m. Labor Day mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 450 Abbott Road.

The parade will begin lining up at 10 a.m. at the corner of Dorrance Avenue and McKinley Parkway. The parade steps off at 11 a.m.

A cookout at Cazenovia Park follows the parade at noon. Registration is required to take part in the parade and picnic; click HERE to register.

Massena

The 44th annual Solidarity Day Parade starts at 11 a.m. The parade will step off at the intersection of Center and Willow streets. The parade ends at Springs Park, where a picnic will be held.

Rochester

The Rochester Labor Day Parade starts at 11 a.m. at 275 East Ave., at the corner of East Avenue and Union Street. A press conference will be held at 10 a.m.

Syracuse

The annual Labor Day parade and rally starts at 10:30 a.m. at the New York State Fair. Line-up for the parade is 10 a.m. A rally will follow the parade.

New York City

UUP will march in the annual Labor Day parade, which attracts thousands of unionists to Manhattan each year. The parade steps off at 10 a.m.; It will start at 44th Street and Fifth Avenue and proceed down Fifth Avenue to 64th Street.

Before the parade, UUP will gather at 11 a.m. at E. 46th St. between 5th Ave. and Madison Ave (Madison Ave is best entrance to our meeting area).
