Associate for Continuing Education: (SL-4)
An Associate for Continuing Education is responsible for the development of external relationships with private and public organizations for purposes of identifying and promoting their continuing education and training needs; designs appropriate programs and ensures proper budgeting, marketing, staffing, financial, equipment and space resources; and evaluation of course offerings. Functional relationships are maintained with colleagues in the Office of Continuing Education, the Research Foundation, the Public Information Office, faculty, support staff, campus administration, and members of the surrounding business community, municipal officers, and social religious organizations.
Other duties, based upon individual campus program needs, may include: coordinating conference services, program design and implementation, publicity, and the fiscal requirements of the Continuing Education Office to ensure that contracted services are provided; establishing contact with intern programs, advising in program development, and assigning and supervising interns to ensure a quality external work experience; supervising Student/Graduate Assistants and classified staff working in support of the Continuing Education mission; disclosing accomplishments of the Office to the media to broaden recognition of such work and further develop a base of support within the community.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Education Administration, Public Administration, or other relevant discipline. Four (4) years of relevant work experience, preferably in planning, accounting and budgeting.

Assistant for Continuing Education: (SL-3)
The Assistant for Continuing Education is involved in such diverse areas as student advisement, retention, recruitment, and registration of students in continuing education programs. The incumbent must have a thorough knowledge of general institutional information and programs offered by the Office of Continuing Education.
Typical duties include, but are not limited to: working with students in formal and informal advisement contexts; communicating university policies, regulations, procedures and operations; assisting in defining objectives and planning activities for the Office of Continuing Education; recommending solutions and/or procedures to resolve student and operational problems; participating in recruitment activities; performing annual record review and retention determination; maintaining liaison and scheduling semester courses with selected departments.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree. Knowledge of current University policies and procedures is highly desirable.
