T.H. CLINICAL TECHNICAL SERVICES – ENDOSCOPY

Provides diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for gastroenterology, including esophageal motility studies, H2 breath tests, and all lower and upper intestinal endoscopic procedures.

T.H. CTS Endoscopy Senior Specialist: (SL-4)

Supervises technical and other staff within the endoscopy department; assists in endoscopic procedures; assists in the care of patients in all aspects of endoscopic procedures; participates in the training of new gastronenterology and pulmonary fellows; performs esophageal motility studies, 24 hour pH recording, bile analysis H2 breath tests; assists in laser therapy and ERCP; obtains needed equipment for the endoscopy department; prepares and maintains annual budget for the department; updates policy and procedures manual; acts as liaison between endoscopy service and medical staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in science or Registered Nurse, and five (5) years of endoscopy experience, or endoscopy technologist with five (5) years of endoscopy experience.

T.H. CTS Endoscopy Specialist: (SL-3)

Assists in endoscopic procedures; maintains equipment to be used to insure their good working condition; assists in the care of patients in all aspects of endoscopic procedures; maintains record of medication given during procedures; assesses patient’s knowledge of procedure for informed consent; responsible for specimens collected during procedures, with appropriate requisitions; participates in the training of new gastronenterology and pulmonary fellows; performs esophogeal motility, 24 hour pH recording, bile analysis, gastric secretory studies, H2 breath tests; assists in ERCP and laser therapy; assists in the development of new projects and new protocols in the endoscopy department; maintains in-house and pharmaceutical supplies.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in science or Registered Nurse, and two (2) to four (4) years endoscopy experience or gastroenterology technologist with two (2) to four (4) years experience.

Assists in endoscopic procedures; maintains equipment to be used to ensure their good working condition; assists in the care of patients in all aspects of endoscopic procedures; responsible for specimens collected during procedures, with appropriate requisitions; works under direct supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate’s degree or medical technologist or Registered Nurse with 0 – two (2) years experience.
