T.H. CLINICAL TECHNICAL SERVICES – BURN UNIT
Provides patient care to burn victims and is involved in the logistics, technical and psychic aspects of burn wound care.
T.H. CTS Burn Specialist: (SL-3)
Under the consultative supervision of the Burn Unit Director, coordinates the daily burn care activities as they relate to the inpatients which includes coordination of the general nursing staff, members of the burn team (ie, Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy departments), and the patient’s family; changes wound dressings to include debridement; applies biologic dressings in the form of homograph, amnion or pigskin; applies bandages or splints. The Burn Care Technician must be continually sensitive to the patient’s pain and interacts constructively with the members of the burn-care team; assists surgeons in the operating room and prepares homograph skin and amnion tissue banking; continuously collects; records and maintains physiologic data and unit records; provides instruction to medical staff, residents and students in the logistic, technical and psychic aspects of burn wound care.
Preferred Qualificaitons:
Associate’s degree in related field, licensed Registered Nurse. Minimum three (3) years burn-wound care experience.

The Burn Unit Technician must be continually sensitive to the patient’s pain and interacts constructively with the members of the burn-care team; collects physiologic data; provides instruction to residents and students in proper burn care procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in related field. Nursing or operating room experience preferred.
