COMMUNITY RELATIONS/PUBLICATIONS

The Community Relations/Publications positions are involved with the development and direction of the public relations programs, publications, news releases and community involvement. The positions in this series are task oriented.

Associate Director of Community Relations: (SL-4)

Serves as the second in charge of a large Community Relations/Publications Office. Supervises press releases, publications and community relations; may specialize in one of those areas in addition to supervising responsibilities; is involved with public service programs with community.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree and significant related experience.

Assistant Director of Community Relations: (SL-3)

Supervises a campus publications program including faculty, administration and students. Edits, lays out and oversees the production of college catalogs, bulletins, leaflets, brochures, periodicals and reports; may supervise typing, compositions and reproduction; distributes news releases.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in related field and three (3) years related experience.

Community Relations Associate: (SL-2)

Under supervision secures information from faculty, students and administrative offices as a basis for writing or editing news releases; prepares news releases; edits copies for reproduction; receives inquiries from news media and develops answers or refers inquiries to appropriate offices; participates in the publication of the college catalog, admissions brochures, conference programs and descriptions of academic or public service programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years experience.

Community Relations Assistant: (SL-1)

Under direct supervision is responsible for performing routine editorial work related to Campus publications. Procures, develops and edits material for publication; edits manuscripts, assists with projects involving interaction with community agencies or the public.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s Degree.
