T.H. Clinical Technical Service-Speech Pathologist

Incumbents in this position provide patient care services which include diagnostic speech, voice and language examinations; and provide bench and classroom instruction to all medical staff.

T.H. CTS Speech Pathologist II: (SL-3)

Responsible for coordination of the hospital Speech Pathology Program; assists in the formulation of policies and procedures to insure complete speech pathology services; responsible for quality assurance program; designs and constructs tests to obtain a tentative working diagnosis of the communication problem; manages all of the administrative detail such as scheduling patients, record keeping, supply inventories, etc, related to patient care provided. Maintains appropriate liaisons with colleges and universities in the area; organizes and provides clinical practicum for affiliating students; orients and supervises students of speech/language programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology, NYS licensure, clinical certification in speech pathology or its equivalent. Minimum three (3) years clinical experience required.

T.H. CTS Speech Pathologist I: (SL-4)

Under the direction of the T.H. Speech Pathologist II, provides examination and teatment services to patients having communication disorders. Conducts complete diagnostic speech, voice and language examinations with all age ranges of patients; administers diagnostic tests and procedures; teaching of medical center personnel; maintains a treatment caseload and screens hearing sensitivity. Responsible for preparation of reports and communicates with referral sources and treatment agencies. Participates in departmental and community educational programs, including clinical fellow interns in speech pathology. Participates in clinical research programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s in Speech Pathology, NYS licensure, clinical certification in speech pathology or its equivalent, minimum one (1) year experience required.
