T.H. CLINICAL TECHNICAL SERVICES – ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY

Positions whose primary responsibilities are to monitor and inspect hospital areas which use hazardous and biohazardous materials for the purpose of recommending corrective action for safe handling and appropriate waste disposal and to promulgate and present safety programs to a diverse cross-section of hospital employees.

T.H. CTS Environmental health and Safety Senior Specialist: (SL-4)

Responsible for the hospital’s regulatory code compliance and assists in the execution and implementation of policies applicable to both the Federal and State guidelines for Radiation Safety and Quality Assurance Programs. Executes the policies established by the University Hospital Safety Committees as they relate to hazardous chemicals, fire safety and occupational safety. Monitors hazardous waste and supervises the hospital’s waste contracts. Performs office managerial duties; oversees budget expenditures; supervises and evaluates staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

B.S. and five (5) or more years experience.

T.H. CTS Environmental Health and Safety Specialist: (SL-3)

Responsible for gathering and collecting data for report preparation. Responsibilities include safety training in Fire, Radiation, Chemicals, etc. and policy development. In addition, performs the same functions as the T.H. Clinical Technical Associate.

Preferred Qualifications:

B.S. and two (2) to four (4) years experience.

T.H. CTS Environmental Health and Safety Associate: (SL-2)

Performs surveys such as insulation and air monitoring. Responds to emergency conditions; investigates complaints and inspects the laboratories.

Preferred Qualifications:

B.S. in science and zero (0) to two (2) years experience.
