T.H. CLINICAL TECHNICAL SERVICE – INSERVICE EDUCATOR

Positions charged with the express function of providing training and development to employees either within a specific department or on a house-wide basis, on usage of various equipment, orientation to intro or interdepartmental procedures, and/or on highly specialized technical skills.

T.H. CTS Inservice Educator III: (SL-2)

Primarily provides orientation for employees new to the department, and gives practical training to enable these employees to meet the expectations of the job and to perform their daily functions. Training is usually limited to employees of a department or unit (i.e., on-the-job training in Central Sterile Supply).

Preferred Qualifications:

In each level these will depend on the department or area where the position is found. For example; an Inservice Educator III in Nursing will require an RN as well as a BD; an Inservice Educator in Information Systems may require an Associates Degree and six (6) years of relevant experience.

T.H. CTS Inservice Educator II: (SL-3)

Provides training on the developmental aspects of the job which goes beyond the ability to perform daily functions. May include general courses on continuing education or management development seminars, or introductory courses on state-of-the-art technology. Training is not limited to employees of a specific unit or department, but may be offered house-wide (i.e., Supervisory Skills training or PC Training Classes in Information Systems).

Preferred Qualifications:

In each level these will depend on the department or area where the position is found. For example; an Inservice Educator III in Nursing will require an RN as well as a BS; an Inservice Educator in Information Systems may require an Associates Degree and six (6) years of relevant experience.

T.H. CTS Inservice Educator I: (SL-4)

Provides training for the development of highly specialized skills on a technical level. Courses may be offered to all employees house-wide, or to employees of a specific unit or department to further enhance the employee’s ability to successfully meet the expectations of the job. Includes providing technical expertise on a consultative basis where needed. (i.e., higher-level PC training classes in Information Systems, or ICU/OR training in Nursing).

In each level these will depend on the department or area where the position is found. For example; an Inservice Educator III in Nursing will require an RN as well as a BS; an Inservice Educator in Information Systems may require an Associates Degree and six (6) years of relevant experience.
