Virtual town hall meetings on negotiations in October

UUP members can find out about the status of UUP’s negotiations for a new contract with the state at virtual town hall seminars set for Oct. 3 and Oct. 7.

Two virtual town halls for contingent employees are scheduled later in the month, on Oct. 26 and Oct. 27.

The town halls on Oct. 3 and Oct. 7 are for solely for UUP members. Only UUP members can vote on a new contract. Click HERE to become a UUP member.

The events will be led by UUP Chief Negotiator Bret Benjamin and Counsel to the President Elizabeth Hough. During the presentations, members can ask questions and get answers, updates and more information about the contract negotiations process.

Pre-registration is required. The members-only town halls are:

  • Oct. 3: 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. Register HERE.
  • Oct. 7: 12 p.m. noon – 2 p.m. Register HERE.

The town halls for contingent employees are being held in solidarity with Campus Equity Week, held to call attention to the working conditions of contingent faculty.

The seminars are open to members and non-members. The focus of the sessions will be on UUP’s bargaining efforts to improve the working conditions of contingent employees.
