As UUP’s Negotiations Team prepares to meet with the state to negotiate a new contract, it’s crucial for UUP members to understand the benefits and job protections that we’ve already won and are in our current contract.

It’s also important for members to become engaged as the Team starts negotiations for a new contract.

That’s why UUP is offering a series of virtual “Know Your Contract” lunch-and-learn sessions. The workshops will cover key aspects of the contract, including leave provisions, job security and retrenchment, contractual benefits, and provisions for contingent employees.

The series starts on Nov. 12 and Nov. 13 with workshops on grievances and discipline. Workshops will be held just about each week through the end of January 2026. UUP’s NYSUT labor relations specialists will lead the workshops.

The virtual workshops are open to members and non-members; feel free to attend as many as you wish.
