Hurricane Melissa ripped through Jamaica Oct. 28, killing dozens of people, leaving tens of thousands more homeless and decimating roads and infrastructure.

The hurricane was one of the strongest Atlantic hurricanes ever, wreaking havoc in Jamaica’s western region and tearing through Cuba and Haiti. It hit Jamaica as a Category 5 storm, bringing with it extreme winds, torrential downpours and huge storm surges.

You can help Jamaica recover by donating to AFT’s Disaster Relief Fund, which will help provide emergency assistance and long-term recovery support for areas affected by the hurricane.
