Support striking NYSNA nurses!
uupdate 01-16-26

On Jan. 12, nearly 15,000 nurses, all of whom are New York State Nurses Association members, went on strike in New York City for a fair agreement that includes increased workplace safety protections, safe staffing ratios and guaranteed health care benefits.

UUP stands in solidarity with our NYSNA siblings, who need our support as they walk picket lines in what is being called the largest nurses’ strike in New York City history.

Here’s what you can do to help.

Send an e-letter

Please send an e-letter to CEOs at the hospitals where NYSNA is on strike: Mount Sinai Hospital, Mount Sinai Morningside, Mount Sinai West, Montefiore Hospital and New York Presbyterian Hospital. Tell them that NYSNA nurses deserve a fair agreement!

Click HERE to send the e-letter.

Join NYSNA picket lines

UUP encourages members to join NYSNA picket lines, which run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily; the picket lines are busiest between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Please wear your UUP t-shirts, hats and other UUP-branded items to let people know that UUP is there to show our support.

Also, you can print out UUP signs that say UUP Stands in Solidarity with NYSNA Nurses.
