UUP members who have five years of continuous UUP membership immediately prior to retirement, or who have continuous membership for the length of their employment prior to retirement if less than five years, may apply for Retired Membership. As a Retired Member of UUP you are eligible to receive the following benefits:

Meet Your Chapter Officers for Retirees
The Officer for Retirees is elected by the chapter membership. The position can be held by either a retired or active UUP member. The role of the officer for retirees is to:- Work with the chapter President and Executive Board to schedule pre-retirement workshops, and other events to involve retired members
- Coordinate with chapter leadership to promote the benefits of being involved with active and retiree activities
- Attend chapter Executive Board meetings and report on activities relevant to engagement of the Chapter’s retired members
- Work with leadership to facilitate in-district and statewide advocacy
- Serve as a conduit for information to/from membership, leadership, and the Retired Membership Governing Committee
