UUP President Fred Kowal is urging UUP members to attend No Kings rallies across the state on Saturday, Oct. 18.
“I cannot stress enough how important it is for UUP to be heard,” Kowal said. “As unionists, we must stand up for what we believe in: defending our work, defending each other and defending the right to think and speak free of government coercion or control.
“Higher education and organized labor are favorite targets of the current administration and we are duty-bound to defend ourselves and the rights that we hold dear as union members and as Americans,” he said.
UUP is once again an official No Kings partner; our union partnered with No Kings for the first No Kings rallies, which were held nationwide on June 14. That day, more than 5 million protesters attended No Kings events in hundreds of cities, towns and locations across the country.
No Kings is an opportunity for Americans who believe in democracy to peacefully but strongly send the message that America does not and will not answer or bow down to a king, a dictator or an authoritarian leader.
A new, centralized UUP registration page has been created for members who plan to participate in No Kings events. Members who register on UUP’s page will automatically be registered with No Kings. Click HERE to access UUP’s No Kings registration page.
If you’ve already registered to attend a No Kings event, please register again using UUP’s registration page. Registering with UUP will help our union know where you’re going to be and make it easier to share information.
